BMR Calculation

How the BMR Calculator Works

This calculator estimates your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) — the number of calories your body burns at rest. It uses the Mifflin‑St Jeor equation, the most accurate and widely accepted BMR formula used by nutritionists and health professionals.

Formulas Used (Mifflin‑St Jeor)

The calculator uses the following equations:

Example

Calculate BMR for a 30‑year‑old male, 75 kg, 180 cm:

BMR = (10 × 75) + (6.25 × 180) − (5 × 30) + 5
    = 750 + 1125 − 150 + 5
    = 1730 calories/day
